When we read the bible, we can discover poetry in some of the books of the bible,
Behind these poems written in the bible, we have some messages or something to learn which the biblical poets communicate to us; we take the case of the book of Song of Solomon 2: 2 “Like a lily among thorns, is my darling among the young women.” Here in this poetry, it is King Solomon’s reply to the shulamite woman whom in verse 1, she said she was a lily that is found in the valleys,

But King Solomon corrected her by saying that she was a lily of flowers in the midst of thorns, what we can learn here is that the shulamite woman under the emotion of love, she was trying to devalue herself by referring to the lilies of flowers in the valleys which was going to be easy for king Solomon to find her or any other woman because there are many flowers by the valleys which make them easy to find but in the middle of the thorns it is difficult to find a botanical life so to find a flower in such an environment would be difficult hence in the response of King Solomon, he restored the value of the woman that he loved in a poetic way
